A fallacy

Does Coffee Really Stunt Your Growth? Do you like coffee?  Did your parents told you not to drink coffee when you were young because it can stunt your growth of height? If so, have you never thought of whether it is  true or not ?   Many people all over the world start their day by drinking one cup of coffee. So , there is a lot of debate over whether coffee is safe for teenagers or not, because it is thought to stunt proper bone growth and development. According to a website, there is no evidence that drinking coffee has any effect on height.  One study researched 81 women aged 12–18 for six years. It found no difference in bone health between those who drink coffee a lot, compared to those with the lowest. The reason why this myth spread is unknown, but it’s thought to do with caffeine.  Research suggests the caffeine can reduce the absorption of calcium, which is necessary for bone strength and health Some parents really strict their children from drinking coffee becaus

A fallacy

Do you know the myth that  If you lie down right after eating, you will get fat? My mother always said to me, so I have been afraid of the myth from a long time. But this is a fallacy. Lying down right after eating is not a bad thing but a good thing. It is said that resting after eating improves the metabolism of the liver and improves the fat burning effect. That's why sleeping right after eating is better for losing weight than exercising actively. But, this sleeping is the meaning of lying. If you sleep too deeply, it will not be good for your health. We should be careful so as not to sleep deeply by mistake.

A Commonly Held Perception

Drinking too much soda will melt your bones and teeth. This commonly held perception has been passed down from generation to generation. However, the perception is false. It is true that soda dissolves bones and teeth. Their main component dissolves in acid. Therefore, if a bone or tooth is soaked in a liquid containing acid, such as soda, for a long time, they'll be dissolved. However, soda you drunk doesn't come into direct contact with bones in your body. So, soda doesn't dissolve your bones. Your teeth isn't dissolved either. It's because soda passes through your mouth quickly and is in contact with your teeth for a short time. Also, your teeth are protected by your saliva.

Crime & Punishment

Image
If the following things are done, I believe the crime rate will fall: a) The government should give financial support to companies which provide apprenticeships and other training-on-the-job opportunities to school leavers and prison releasees . b) The government should introduce various programmes to prevent child abuse , such as high-profile advertising campaigns, support packages for young and single parents, and compulsory rehabilitation programmes for abusers. Steps such as these might break the cycle of abuse, where the abused go on to abuse their own children or other relatives.  c) Various cultural, religious and sporting organizations should provide programmes which give young people a sense of belonging and a purpose for living and importantly provide them with expectations to meet regarding their conduct and support so when they fail to meet these goals they can 'get back on the rails' again.

The best ways to reduce crime is education. So, I'll describe about three kinds of education. Academic education Some research reveals that the lower academic background is, the higher a crime rate is. It's matter not which university you graduated from, but a highest academic qualification is junior high school. So, I think that parents and government should give children education after junior high school. This makes children grow up intellectually and mentally. Job training Unemployment causes crime because the unemployed want to get money quickly. People who have specialized skills or high academic background will get new job quickly. However, people have neither won't. So that they can get new job quickly and not commit a crime, they should be given job training. Moral education The young commit the crime easily even if they get good education. It's because some children think crime as entertainment. They often say "No problem if only once", however they

To prevent crimes

I would like to write about 3 points we should do to prevent crimes to happen.   First point is to increase the number of surveillance cameras, and bright lights along the narrow, and dark streets where crimes tend to happen a lot. I assume police know the common places where people get attacked at night, so they should set cameras to make bad people hesitate from doing.   Second point is to defend yourself. Many people are being hurt, attacked, or killed by bad people, so to prevent it we should know how to defend ourselves. My idea is to make it a obligation for young people to learn Judo, or Karate or Aikido. Now days even boys are being hurt, so regardless of the gender, all young adults should do it in order to protect themselves, and also others.   The last point is some people committee crimes because they are in serious need of money, so my opinion is to allow people to get loan or insurance for certain period from their government, and after they earned enough m

The best way to reduce crime

I think the best way to reduce crime in the community is maintaining the public order. I am going to show three points to approach the problem. First, the police should strengthen the control more strictly. If the police can see the deep town or everywhere in cities, people don't tend to commit some crimes. And I think it's good idea to give them more heavy punishment. We can also rely on the development of technology. For example, we can set security camera or something in the place where crimes are often done. Second, I think we can reduce crime by education. Teachers can tell children how crime makes their life bad and how crime is not forgiven. Not only teachers but also parents can teach them to their children at home.  The last one is that the city office supports unstable people. For example, they can set counseling offices where people who have some problems in their family can visit. Sometimes, the city officers need to visit their houses as observers. And the governm

A Place I Love

Image
I love to spend time in Dunedin's 'Green Belt.' It is a belt of native forest which snakes through some of Dunedin's hill-suburbs above the central city. I take my poodle, Neo, for walks there and enjoy sitting on park benches in clearings in the belt where I relax with a good book, a ginger beer and a museli bar. Sometimes on my walks in the bush, I stop and carefully take in the sights and sounds of the forest. It is then that I can most clearly pick out the bird song. At those moments I could be miles from the city, but in fact I am right in the middle of it!

A place I love is a bakery because I love bread. I want to eat a fresh bread, so basically I go to a bakery until noon. I make it a rule to eat a fresh bread as soon as I buy it. The moment makes me over the moon! At a bakery I not only buy breads, but also gaze at the building and the inside decoration. They are fashionable. I am interested in how the owners attract customers and make breads tempting. The bakery of below pictures is one which I went to a few days ago. It is in Shiga and produced by a famous sweet company of Shiga. It was selected one of the "Bread WEST 100 Famous Stores in 2020" by the biggest gourmet cite. The popular bread is "Kugel balm". This was wrapped in Baumkuchen and caramel and baked fragrantly. It is the second from the left in the bottom row of the second photo.

A place I love going to

My favorite place is the cafe. First, I'm absorbed in coffee and some desserts in cafes. And I like the relaxing mood in cafes. We can enjoy chatting with our friends while eating or drinking something delicious. Moreover, we can focus on our studying hard if we visit there alone. In my case, I would often go to TURRY'S COFFEE and study for the university entrance exams with a cup of coffee when I was a high school student. Even now I often go to the cafe alone. My favorite beverage in TURRY'S COFFEE is honey milk latte, which is the latte with a lot of milk and honey. It always makes me happy and relaxed. And in some cafes, we can enjoy taking some photogenic pictures to post on instagram. Recently, I like searching cute cafes and going with my friends. Their cafes make our holiday exciting and enjoyable. So the cafe is the best place for me to spend a lot of time in my life.
