The best way to reduce crime
I think the best way to reduce crime in the community is maintaining the public order. I am going to show three points to approach the problem.
First, the police should strengthen the control more strictly. If the police can see the deep town or everywhere in cities, people don't tend to commit some crimes. And I think it's good idea to give them more heavy punishment. We can also rely on the development of technology. For example, we can set security camera or something in the place where crimes are often done.
Second, I think we can reduce crime by education. Teachers can tell children how crime makes their life bad and how crime is not forgiven. Not only teachers but also parents can teach them to their children at home.
The last one is that the city office supports unstable people. For example, they can set counseling offices where people who have some problems in their family can visit. Sometimes, the city officers need to visit their houses as observers. And the government should give people who have previous offences more opportunities to rehabilitate themselves. For instance, they provide jobs they can get certain money.
It's good idea to use technology in order to preserve the peace. Do you know nowadays there is a very small security camera installed a vending machine?
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that!! So we are always watched when we buy something in vending machines. lol
DeleteI think the idea of teachers teaching students is a good idea, and very effective. Teachers teach them that committing crimes are bad, but I think they should tell students more realistically. I think having a city center for people who have troubles with family is a great idea.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your reply! It's a great idea that they should tell students real stories, I think.
DeleteI think there is something to be said for making the police more visible in the community, and that I think is the approach traditionally taken in Japan with the 'police box' or 'koban' system. The fact that police officers are stationed in local communities may make folks think twice about committing crimes and it is also a reassurance to potential victims of crime. They know that help is nearby if they do become such victims. So I don't think it is just a matter of police being able to see what is going on in our communities, but it is also a matter of them being seen there.
ReplyDeleteYour idea is very impressive. But I'm concerned about that most koban are not working because police officers aren't there almost all day.
